Classic Roast Pork Belly

This Roast pork belly dish goes down well with everybody - it's difficult to fault the combination of juicy pork with luscious fat and salty, crunchy crackling.

Day 1 (or 2hrs)

Instructions

  1. Score pork belly skin
  2. Sprinkle some salt over crushed garlic into paste.
  3. Combine garlic paste with oil and five spice and rub all over pork
  4. Leave uncovered overnight (min 2hrs)

Day 2 (min 3:30hrs prep)

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle more salt over skin of pork and leave until room temperature
  2. Preheat oven to 200°C and roast for 30min
  3. Reduce heat to 160°C and roast for 2:30hrs
  4. Grill at 220°C for 5-10min to get crackling skin
  5. Remove and rest meat for 20min before cutting
